Size chart localization

About this article

Size chart localization is a functionality for your Size chart being localized in every country you are selling to. E.g. your main Size chart can be with general European sizes, but in France you want to give possibility to select sizes that are used in France, hence you can have main Size chart “translated”.

Localizing a Size Chart

Size chart localization is a separate page in Centra for proper mapping your Size charts with localized version of sizes.

It is located in the main menu to the left under section General > More > Size localizations, below Size charts:

or you can go to that page directly from Size chart page:

  1. Click '+Create size localization' in the top right corner
  2. Fill in the fields:
    • Status: Setting to manage visibility of your Size localisations. Batch action can be used for managing statuses.
      • Active - Will be exposed to the frontend
      • Inactive - Can be used while your set it up and testing it. Once you are sure you want to use those localizations, you can activate it
      • Cancelled - Once you change localisations to be cancelled, all connections from size charts will be removed and Size localization will be disabled and the default Size chart will be used instead
    • Name: Name that is used across Centra AMS, reports etc (internal only)
    • Display name: Name that should be exposed in the Checkout & Showroom API, will be visible in the webshop
    • Comment: Internal usage only, isn’t exposed to the API's
    • Countries: Possibility to specify for which country that localization should be visible for as the new default Size chart. If not specified in the Size localization - then general Size chart will be as default. You can have one localization for more than one country if it is applicable. If you have more than one Size localization on the same Size chart with the same country - we will pick as default the first one from the top. But once one Size localization have the country selected - you will see * attached to that country
  3. Then click 'Save' and it could looks something like this:
  4. After that you go to the Size chart that you would like to use this Size localization for. It is located in the main menu to the left under section General > More > Size charts
  5. Open the Size chart and click '+ Manage size localizations'
  6. A pop-up like this one will appear, where you select the Size localization you would like to use and click 'Save'
  7. You now need to 'Edit' the Size chart to add the Size localization for the sizes in the Size chart
  8. Then hit 'Save' and if you 'Preview' it, it will look something like this:
  9. If you would like to remove the connection of a Size localization to a Size chart then you need to 'Edit' the Size chart and click '+ Manage size localization' and untick the one you would like to remove the connection for and click 'Save'.

You can hard delete Size localization only if it was not used on any of the orders.

If you use functionality Merge Size charts - Size localization connection will be removed from the Size chart that you are merging from and left only the one you are merging it to.

General flow

  1. You need to create separate Size chart localization for each country you want to have a “translated” version of sizes for
  2. Once you have Size localization set, you can connect each Size localization to the Size chart that you want to have localized under the Size chart localization section in the Size chart view.

Where Size localization are used

  • Active & connected Size localizations are exposed to Checkout, Shop & Showroom APIs, so they can be used for displaying needed Size localization by default in specified countries on your frontend webshop
  • If user will select in the checkout the “translated” size of the product, that will be the size that follows through to Centra AMS and you will be able to see it under Orders > Ordered products > Product
  • Size localization is exposed to Klarna, Qliro, Paypal Commerce & Rule. So you can send email confirmations with the actual selected size.

How to start using Size chart localization

Setup of Size chart localization is by default enabled. You can setup all Size chart localization while using old Size mapping from Custom attributes. But to be able to use it via APIs, you need to ask Centra support to set it to Yes in your client config settings. After you enable Size chart localization in the APIs, you will not be able to use the old Size mapping from Custom attributes.

If you are using Afound marketplace integration through Centra which have Size mapping towards Afound via the old Size mapping attribute we will make sure that a default Size localization, called Afound will be created and that one will not possible to modify. It will take all sizes from the plugin as it did before, so all config settings for Afound will be saved.
