Why Heatmaps Are So Hot Right Now
How well is my content performing? This is a question every marketer is plagued with, yet it often goes unanswered. But we're here to offer some helpful advice! Sure, there are some simple ways to measure performance - for example checking Google Analytics, or adding up your social shares. But wouldn’t it be more useful to track exactly where users are clicking on your content, or how long they spending viewing each area of your conent? This method is called a heatmap and it's used to create a graphical representation of data that helps you visualize aggregated user behavior. The most common type of heatmaps identify “hot” or “cold” usage patterns by color. Simply put, the brighter or warmer the color, the better indication of activity.
Maybe you've already heard of heatmaps but are asking yourself “Do they actually work?” Well, we're believers! Heatmaps give us the ability to compare assumptions with real data and optimize for higher conversions in a more pragmatic way.
